Cards against malaria

Genetic inheritance is often described as a game of cards. Which of the two alleles (versions) of a gene you get from each of your parents is random, so your genome is the result of being dealt a ‘genetic hand’ from each parent.

I explored this concept by developing a card game that aims to explain the role that your genes have in malaria susceptibility. Together with the amazing graphic designer Jakob Rossner from the Nuffield Department of Medicine in Oxford, we made Cards against malaria.
